With all the joists in place, Gene and Sam concentrated on laying the rest of the OSB on top, trimming the ends of the joists, and adding nailing blocks.
A bit more of the wall sheathing was added.
And this is how things looked at the end of the day on Wednesday.
Thursday brought significant changes to the project as the second floor wall construction began in earnest. As you can see, we plan to have access to the second floor from a external staircase on the west side.
Somebody has been busy moving lumber! Gene and Sam managed to move almost 3000 pounds of lumber on to the second floor. My back is glad I wasn't present for that activity.
I think I'm going to enjoy this view....
And here's the view at the end of the day on Thursday. Notice there is no lumber sitting on the ground outside the building. On Friday the crew went their separate ways and spent the day on other projects. Only the Lord knows if anything will be accomplished over the weekend.
