I decided to post this sunset because I think it is so typical of the sunsets this time of year. Often we have no clouds and the sun seems to sit on the horizon for an hour. These sunsets are especially hard to drive into -- the sun visor has to be down so low that you really can't see the road ahead. Nevertheless I think the beauty in this sunset is much like the beauty in the Illinois prairie: it's an acquired taste, unappreciated by those normally surrounded by more dramatic beauty.
