Pressure washing pleasure

Our activities today included lots of little jobs including seeing what the pressure washer would do on the stone planter at the front of the house. We knew it had years of dirt and moss on it, but it was one of those things that was easy to ignore. If I had known cleaning the stone would be so satisfying, I would have done it months ago!

I wish I would have taken a picture before I started washing, but this is how the planter looked after a bit of spraying working from left to right.

Finished. Our friends will have a hard time recognizing our house with a clean planter like this out front. That was so much fun, I can't wait to clean something else!

  1. well, mr riggenbach, i think i can help you out with that! yes indeedy, i have a whole *house* that could use a pressure wash... and since you "can't wait to clean something else" me and my house'd be happy to oblige you.

  2. Several years ago, I borrowed my Grandpa's power washer and sprayed my Mom's house. Initially, I was only going to spray a small part of the house to clean off some sort of mess, but I ended up doing the whole house. Blasting dirt from a house triggers a certain sense of catharsis in my opinion.

  3. That does look nice. Here in the south mold just loves to grow up on our homes. If you ever want to start a pressure washing business, you'll find lots of customers here.

  5. Thanks for the encouragement, ladies. If I happen to get laid off this year, it looks like there's an entrepreneurial opportunity waiting for me!

  6. Just thought I'd point out that I'm not a lady despite what Kurt's comment accidentally implied. At least, I hope it was an accident. ; -)

  7. Jeremy: I figured since your comment wasn't an expression of encouragement everyone would understand that you were not intended as a recipient of my response.

  8. Kurt, I didn't think that you were including me when you said "ladies," but I felt the need to clarify this anyhow. At the time, I was tired and super-moody due to a lack of coffee. I was craving chocolate, and couldn't help but wonder, "Do my co-workers think that my jeans are making me look fat today?" Then, this member called and made me want to cry...

OK, I was tired and cranky, but the rest of that didn't actually happen. I didn't think that you were referring to me as a lady. My insinuation that you had was in jest. Please don't ban me from your blog!

BTW, even if you were referring to me as a "lady," it wouldn't have been that big of a deal. I'd simply grin and bear it and strive to be the dudeliest lady ever. ;-)
